Instagram, the world’s largest photo and video sharing network, retained L&K Partners for the renovation and build-out of their 60,000 sf office located at the historic Wanamaker building in New York City. Originally built in 1907, the project required careful restoration to the building’s structural elements and historic details including arched landmarked windows and lofted ceilings.
The workspace is equipped with shared desks on the eastern and western sides of the floor with conference rooms and communal space fixed in the center of the floorplan. The corridor is a creative space featuring a multicolored translucent dome with modular seating, and a living green wall that spans two floors. Honoring the principles of the brand, the office aims to foster collaboration between employees through shared amenity spaces including an open-air art gallery, video recording studio, gelato and coffee bar, library, and rooftop patio. Our team at L&K worked closely with Instagram and the design team to deliver a space that reflects Instagram’s craft-driven culture and mission of community.
