The Gemological Institute of America (GIA), a nonprofit institute dedicated to research and education in the field of gemology and jewelry arts, retained L&K Partners for construction management and general contracting services for the build-out of their education center on the 9th floor of their campus located in the renowned International Gem Tower in New York City. GIA serves as the world’s authority for gem and jewelry information and offers a variety of educational courses, training programs, and gem identification grading services, with 11 campuses worldwide.
We completed the 15,000 sf interior build-out of the institute’s education center, comprised of conference, classrooms, and pantry. The meeting room upgrades include state-of-the-art audio-visual systems, connecting the campus to other GIA facilities across the globe as well Skyfold vertically retracting acoustic walls to divide the conference space with a push of a button.
The Gem Tower campus brilliantly integrates GIA’s’ operations all under one roof with smart, sleek design, completed in partnership with Ted Moudis Associates, and ModernfoldStyles Inc., among others.
