Café Joyeux

Food & Beverage

Café Joyeux, a non-profit family of café-restaurants dedicated to the employment and training of people with mental and cognitive disabilities, engaged L&K Partners for the build-out of its first U.S. restaurant located in Midtown Manhattan.

With fifteen thriving locations across France and five locations in Belgium and Portugal, Café Joyeux’s NYC location stays true to the brand’s ethos and signature vibrant and welcoming atmosphere.

The project included the renovation of the main level café and lower level employee lounge, totaling over 4,500 SF. Our team maintained careful coordination throughout the project with international design teams, led by Paris-based interior design firm, Maison Sarah Lavoine, to source materials, navigate lead times, and maintain brand guidelines.

The café features a bold yet warm design, embellished by Café Joyeux’s iconic bright yellow color and display artwork. The space is filled with natural, authentic materials including wood countertops, mosaic tile flooring and ceramic light fixtures.

Our team is honored to be a part of the project and bring awareness to Café Joyeux’s mission. As a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization, 100% of Café Joyeux's profits contribute to the opening of future cafés and support employment and ongoing training of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
